How well do your employees fit your workplace?
From
assembly line height and telephone headsets, to proper lifting
techniques and choosing the right company vehicles, SnarrTech's "Safety
by Design" approach to ergonomics keeps more of your employees on the
job
-- Inside Healthy, safe employees give your business a competitive edge:
Fewer injuries/less lost time Fewer workers' compensation claims Fewer lawsuits Enhanced production Greater employee longevity Stronger profit margin
Ergonomics is the key! Employers
routinely spend thousands of dollars to hire and train employees, only
to see their profits later shortchanged by costly employee injury claims
and legal fees. Don't let it happen to you!
Take advantage of the modern science of ergonomics, and start saving money and time immediately.
What is Ergonomics? The
simplest definition: fitting the work station to the worker. Or,
finding the appropriate tools for the worker. Ergonomics is also
described as the study of the interaction between humans and machines as
it relates to workplace layout. Whatever the definition, the goal of
ergonomics is to fit the job to the person, not the person to the job.

What can ergonomics do for you? Increase productivity Better-organized equipment, designed to fit your employees, improves efficiency and profit margins. Promote employee safety A safer work environment keeps injuries to a minimum, increases morale, and encourages career longevity. Save you money Significantly reduce risk for injuries, lost time, workers' compensation claims, costly lawsuits, and OSHA fines. >>1-4 photos here Caption here Ignore or "put off" ergonomic evaluations; throw money away If
you'd rather focus on other pressing matters and let ergonomics wait,
you might as well pour your profits down the drain. Consider this: How
much money have you already thrown away this year?
Your
employees are your greatest asset and largest investment. Keeping them
healthy, safe, and satisfied gives you the strongest return for your
dollar, while ignoring their needs can strongly impact your bottom line.
Who's qualified to evaluate my workplace? Few
consultants offer comprehensive ergonomic workplace analysis. Even fewer
come from a physical therapy background and are experienced, certified
ergonomists. Sharon Snarr, owner of SnarrTech, is a highly qualified
consultant who specializes in saving companies substantial amounts of
money through applied ergonomics.
Snarr evaluates workspaces,
equipment, and employees and recommends solutions. She sells no products
and does not profit from her suggestions. The benefits of her service
are realized every day by the dozens of satisfied companies throughout
California who have implemented Snarr's ergonomic advice. "I
manage a fleet of 358 vehicles, as well as the safety, workers
compensation, ergonomics, and wellness programs for 700 associates.
"I employed Sharon for two key projects.
"First,
she performed job analyses to identify the range of physical tasks for
four types of positions: field service representative, technical
operations specialist, warehouse worker, and auditor. The job evaluation
is the cornerstone of both the legal defense and practical aspects of
hiring new candidates. She conducted pre-employment evaluations on more
than 200 applicants, and there has not been a single injury in the last
two years. Sharon evidenced a high degree of expertise and efficiency,
and won the respect of everyone who worked with her.
"Second,
she conducted an ergonomic evaluation of two types of utility vehicles.
Sharon's report was instrumental in helping us go forward with a
20-vehicle pilot program. Bringing these vehicles on board was a dream
and goal of mine for more than two years. I would not have been able to
proceed this far without Sharon's professional expertise." Elise A. Macinka, Safety Manager, Cox Communications SnarrTech

has been our agency's ergonomic consultant for the past three years.
She's very knowledgeable and objective, providing ergonomic assessments,
cost-effective recommendations, new employee orientations, and training
classes. In addition to offering excellent solutions, she explains
suggestions and instructions thoroughly, and is flexible to meet with
our employees on various shifts at odd times. She's friendly, easy
going, and approachable." Donna Flores, Safety Officer, Stanislaus County Health Services Agency
"Sharon
has performed extensive job analyses for several companies with which
we've been jointly associated. She recommends ergonomic changes to help
ensure that people are safe to do their jobs, and utilizes the
pre-injury prevention program, WorkSTEPSฎ. Employers across the country
say that this program saved an average of 50% over their previous years'
injury costs. A company in the Fresno area saved more than a million
dollars in their first year of implementation. WorkSTEPS is the best
tool employers have to control claims costs. If I knew of a client or
employer who needed ergonomic analysis or to establish an injury
prevention program, I wouldn't send anyone but Sharon. She's very
accomplished, has several accreditations, and as far as I know, knows
more about how WorkSTEPS and ergonomics fit together than anyone else in
the state." Terry Lawson, President, Integrated Injury Management; Western Representative for WorkSTEPS
